How to Measure Ring Size At Home
Updated: Jul 11, 2022
Instructions

Things You'll Need
Ruler
Thin strip of paper or string
A marker (optional)
Wrap the paper or string around your finger. Make sure it's below the joint of your finger and close to your knuckle. Don't pull it too tight, you should be able to slide it off with just a little wiggling.
Work the loop off your finger, holding the ends where they meet or ask someone to help you mark where they meet with a marker.
Straighten out the loop and measure the length with your ruler.
Use the following chart to determine your ring size. If you have a metric ruler that records millimeters then this is a much more accurate way to measure it. I have included charts for both. If your size falls somewhere between two measurements then there are also half and quarter sizes available on this website.
Using a ring you already have

Things You'll Need
Ruler

You ring
Place the ring on the ruler so that the inside edge at the widest part is on the 0 line. You are trying to measure the diameter of the inside of the ring.
Read the measurement on the opposite end of the ring on the inside.
Use the chart to figure out ring size.
